{"id":12048,"date":"2016-06-14T14:06:10","date_gmt":"2016-06-14T14:06:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/medcollege.edu.gr\/en\/?page_id=12048"},"modified":"2025-05-13T09:52:56","modified_gmt":"2025-05-13T06:52:56","slug":"student-visa-residence-permit","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mcdev.cnast-dev.gr\/en\/international\/student-visa-residence-permit\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Visa &#038; Residence Permit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Student Visa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you are a non-EU citizen you are requested to apply for a student visa (national visa \u2013 type D) at your home Greek Embassy or Consulate. Find <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mfa.gr\/en\/appendix\/greece-bilateral-relations\/a.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> the Greek Embassy\/Consulate in your country.<\/p>\n<p>Ensure that you contact your local Greek Embassy or Consulate for updated information and details on the student visa process and make your application in time (8-12 weeks prior to arrival).<\/p>\n<p>Normally you will need the following documents:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mfa.gr\/images\/docs\/ethnikes_theoriseis\/application_national_visas.pdf\">Application form<\/a> for a visa for a long stay in Greece, fully filled in and signed (<em>Application form for a person under 18-years-old should be signed by both parents or by the legal guardian<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>One recent passport-sized, color photograph<\/li>\n<li>Passport that should:\n<ul>\n<li>be of a validity exceeding by three months the ending date of the visa length<\/li>\n<li>have at least two blank pages<\/li>\n<li>have been issued within the previous ten years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Criminal Record Certificate, recent and duly attested<\/li>\n<li>Medical fitness certificate<\/li>\n<li>Travel medical insurance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional documents required:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Registration letter and fee payment <em>(issued by Mediterranean College)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Certificate by the Ministry of Education that Mediterranean College holds a valid license and is registered in the relevant records <em>(provided by Mediterranean College)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Proof of adequate knowledge of the English language<\/li>\n<li>Proof of sufficient funds to cover living expenses, cost of study and repatriation (including eventual scholarship)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Notes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Original documents and passports submitted must be accompanied along with a copy<\/li>\n<li>All documents submitted, if not in Greek or English, should be accompanied by an English translation<\/li>\n<li>The applicant may be asked for additional documents and will be called to a personal interview at the Embassy\/Consulate<\/li>\n<li>The visa fee is not refunded if the visa is refused<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There will be some time required to process your visa and this will depend on where you are making your application.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Visa Refusal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Greek Consular Authority may refuse to issue a visa, if the requirements are not met and the necessary supporting documents are not filed, as provided by Greek national legislation. Although you\u2019ll have the right to appeal against this decision, this will be a time-consuming and costly legal action before the competent administrative court and it is therefore not advised.<\/p>\n<p>If you decide to cancel or defer your studies on the grounds of the visa rejection, you are eligible to apply for tuition fee refund of the amount you have paid to the College.&nbsp; A non-refundable administration fee will be deducted (250 euros).<\/p>\n<p>You must submit a written request for a refund via e-mail to the International Office along with the scanned Visa Rejection Letter from the Consulate Authority. In the event that the visa refusal was made on the basis of deception, Mediterranean College reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse tuition fee refunds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Residence Permit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Within 40 days after your arrival in Greece, you should apply for a residence permit with the Migration Department.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The process is entirely online, at: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/portal.immigration.gov.gr\/electronic-applications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>https:\/\/portal.immigration.gov.gr\/electronic-applications\/<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ministry of Migration &amp; Asylum contact data:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/migration.gov.gr\/en\/migration-policy\/dioikisi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>https:\/\/migration.gov.gr\/en\/migration-policy\/dioikisi\/<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The following documents are required:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Student Visa (Type D Entry Visa provided by Greek Consular authorities)<\/li>\n<li>Medical Insurance Certificate, issued by a Greek medical insurance company<\/li>\n<li>Photocopy of a valid passport<\/li>\n<li>Student\u2019s registration letter confirming that the student is registered with Mediterranean College and has deposited the tuition fees<\/li>\n<li>Bank statement confirming that the student has sufficient funds in the bank account to cover living expenses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The renewal of the permit is annual.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All students are assisted by the International Office for the issue and renewal of their residence permit.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Student Visa If you are a non-EU citizen you are requested to apply for a student visa (national visa \u2013 type D) at your home Greek Embassy or Consulate.
