Within individual modules of all programmes, the School invites quest speakers from relevant professional fields and the Academia, to convey current professional trends and academic research findings.<\/p>\n

Open Lectures, Panels and Forums<\/strong><\/p>\n

The School organises open access Lectures, Panels and Forums on contemporary issues on Psychology and society.<\/p>\n

  • Abuse: a phenomenon that knows no age or gender<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Seminars & workshops<\/strong><\/p>\n

    In collaboration with leading academics and psychology professionals, the School organises specialised seminars and workshops, inextricably linked to the offered programmes of study, aiming to advance students\u2019 professional skills.<\/p>\n

    • Cognitive Model of depression, anxiety & panic disorders (in collaboration with the Beck Institute, USA)<\/li>\n
    • Working with narcissism<\/li>\n
    • Gestalt Psychotherapeutic approaches<\/li>\n
    • Applications of the Integrative psychotherapeutic model: psychoeducation and parental intervention<\/li>\n
    • Asperger Syndrome & Mental Health<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Field Trips<\/strong><\/p>\n

      The School of Psychology organises field trips to hospitals, centers, institutions and non-governmental organisations. Students participate in guided tours and are informed about how these services operate, acquiring firsthand knowledge from practitioners.<\/p>\n

      Recent visits: Dromokaitio Psychiatric Hospital, Museum of Criminology, counselling centers and clinics.<\/p>\n

      Clinical Placement<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Placement develops students\u2019 professional knowledge and also provides employment opportunities. Postgraduate programmes in Counselling include compulsory, supervised clinical placement and students are supported by Mediterranean College in finding the suitable practice setting, through the College\u2019s wide network. Undergraduate students are encouraged to apply for placement or voluntary posts, which may be announced by the Career Office.<\/p>\n

      Volunteering<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Voluntary work, applied in a systematic manner in a field related to the curriculum, provides a unique opportunity for students to gain practical experience and improve their CV.  The School of Psychology strongly supports volunteerism and students are encouraged to undertake voluntary positions in organisations and support the voluntary activities that are organised by the College.<\/p>\n

      Conferences & Poster Presentations<\/strong><\/p>\n

      The School of Psychology participates in professional and academic conferences, so that students are informed about current developments in Psychology and extent their own network.
