{"id":27460,"date":"2018-08-06T13:03:12","date_gmt":"2018-08-06T13:03:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.medcollege.edu.gr\/?page_id=27460\/"},"modified":"2018-08-06T13:03:12","modified_gmt":"2018-08-06T13:03:12","slug":"activities-business-school","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mcdev.cnast-dev.gr\/en\/activities-business-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Activities &#8211; Business School"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\">The Business School, with the support of its wide <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medcollege.edu.gr\/en\/partners-business-school\/\">industry network<\/a>, organises a series of educational activities.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Guest lectures<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Aiming to put theory into practice, staff invite in-class guest lecturers, who come from different corporations or academic institutions and bring a flavor of \u201creal\u201d industry practices and latest research findings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Open Lectures, Panels &amp; Forums<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Business School organises open-access events on current issues of Business and the Economy.<\/p>\n<p>Recent events:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Athens as a tourist destination<\/li>\n<li>The future of the Shipping industry<\/li>\n<li>Industrial revolution 4 (Factory 4.0)<\/li>\n<li>Social entrepreneurship<\/li>\n<li>NGOs as an area of employment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Seminars &amp; Workshops<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with leading experts, companies and professionals, the Business School organises specialised workshops and seminars, linked with the different study programmes, aiming at strengthening student professional skills.<\/p>\n<p>Indicative subjects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Microsoft Dynamics CRM<\/li>\n<li>Social Media &amp; Internet Marketing<\/li>\n<li>Budgeting of Small and Medium businesses<\/li>\n<li>Accounting in 120\u2019<\/li>\n<li>Marketing Plan 1.0<\/li>\n<li>Using SPSS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Field Trips<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Business School organises frequent field trips to companies, organisations and institutions. Students are guided through the premises, they are briefed about the inner workings of the organisation and they are brought in contact with its executives.<\/p>\n<p>Recent visits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cosmote<\/li>\n<li>Elefsina Shipyards<\/li>\n<li>Athenian Brewery<\/li>\n<li>ElTrak<\/li>\n<li>Vodafone<\/li>\n<li>Monetary Museum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Student Competitions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Business School students have the opportunity to participate in different competitions organised either by Mediterranean College or other institutions (e.g. Global Management Challenge, Business Talents). Participation can be either individual or in teams. Irrespective of the result, participation in competitions provides students with an invaluable experience and creates opportunities for networking.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conferences<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Business School actively participates in different conferences taking place in Greece. The purpose is for students to be informed about recent developments on their field and cultivate their own personal business contacts.<\/p>\n<p>Recent Conferences:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Infocom<\/li>\n<li>StartUp Safari (Egg)<\/li>\n<li>Entrepreneurship Panorama<\/li>\n<li>Money Show<\/li>\n<li>Export Leaders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Business School students also have the opportunity to present their projects in the Annual <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medcollege.edu.gr\/en\/mediterranean-college\/leading-initiatives\/student-excellence-conference\/\">Student Excellence Conference<\/a>, organised by Mediterranean College. Postgraduate students are encouraged to publish their research outputs in national or international academic conferences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Research Groups<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Business School research groups comprise students volunteering to participate in the different research projects undertaken by Mediterranean College. Usually these are working groups that, under the supervision of their tutors, work on data collection and quantitative and statistical analysis. The results of these projects are either incorporated into the College\u2019s Research Centre or are published in conferences or in the mass media.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Internships<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Internships are an integral part in the learning process for Business School students, offering different experiences and direct access to employment.
